Young Couture Gets first victory; Riggs back on track

It's hard to believe that there is a fighter that is more polite and docile away from the cage of Randy Couture. We found one. Is his son Ryan. But much like her father famous of combat, the next generation Couture turns on the bad guys when he steps into the cage. The 27-year-old, making his pro debut on Showtime, made quick work of Lucas Stark forcing a faucet by triangle choke under 90 seconds in struggle.

Couture is a child rather than Earth, but you could see that he was wound up before the fight. There was a ton of pressure on him. After all, he was made his pro debut on a TV card on Showtime. Even admitted in the lead up to the fight that he was always the only opportunity because of its name. Once scored the victory, took a couple of deep breaths before the hand was raised. He jumped around like a maniac or talk trash. Was even a little embarrassed, as asked fans to come to his afterparty.

"All come have a drink with me at the ranch of Martini, please," he said sheepishly la Couture.

He may have been nervous before and after the fight, but showed the composure of a veteran during short fight. Strikes by Tony was a little embarrassing, but he nailed Couture with a few good shots. He landed also bring a pleasant Fireman's outfit to dump Couture on his back.Couture reacted quickly by throwing his right leg on the shoulder of Tony Stark. for a few seconds, Couture threw other leg and the Starter was stuck on. The 20-year-old Tapped quickly the 1: 15 mark. There was no way to exit.

Ryan was certainly more success that the latest fad Strikeforce tried to throw in the cage. Randy ex-wife Kim had a rough time in his two fights you jumped on the ShowTime. big stage a little too quickly. The patient more Ryan fought on the amateur stage in Las Vegas for the last few years and scored six matches under his belt, before he decided to go pro. He is also a gym of his father, Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, just about all the days of training with guys like Tyson Griffin, Gray Maynard and Martin Kampmann.

Patient Riggs blasts out Taylor

Joe Riggs isn't aggressive enough that the killer was during his days UFC, but he still possesses some dangerous elements. The tailor of Louis relatively inexperienced that knew but still couldn't resist the urge to trade with Riggs. That was a bad move. Taylor captured a huge left midway through the third round, struck the bridge and found herself always devastated in front.Taylor trapped helplessly in a crucifix, exploited because of strikes giving Riggs his career 33rd win in a fight catchweight to 182 pounds.

Riggs used to be a guy who has swung for fences. He was good enough, even at the tender age of 9-to-24, to take four victories in UFC welterweight title and get a shot at Matt Hughes.27 now Riggs has become more of a counterstriker.

This approach resulted against Jay Hieron in his last fight but against a guy with fighting only seven, the mentality has proved to be the right way forward.

Taylor, a wrestler from the market, could only score two Takedown and cancelled Riggs (54-11) on the bottom. in the third round, Taylor (6-2) tried to open things, but as color analyst Pat Miletich Showtime pointed out, he was leading with his head. Riggs nailed Taylor with a reverse left. Chicago-native immediately grabbed his face and back seconds later was getting pounded by Riggs.

This was the first fight of Riggs above 170 pounds since September 2008. Looked yet lean like a near Middleweight. after the fight, Riggs lobbied for a rematch against welterweight champ Nick Diaz Strikeforce. If that doesn't happen, he wants in the tournament average Strikeforce proposed.

You would like to see immediately Silva-Sonnen II? Silva Manager has iffy

For some reason in mixed martial arts, immediate rematches are usually frowned. The youngest demographic such new blood in the cage, especially when it comes to the struggles of the title. So when will we see Chael Sonnen get another shot at Anderson Silva? Sonnen was leading 4-0 (40-35, 40-34, 36-40) and his way to win the fifth when he got caught in a triangle choke.

The hype prefight was among the best in UFC history and struggle was dynamite. Willingness of Sonnen get in line with what seemed guarantees scandalous, will probably pay dividends in the form of buy pay-per-view which could be in excess of 750,000.

The second fight will be even larger. Thus the FOC can afford to slip in another competitor before meeting Sonnen e Silva? And isn't incredibly risky to make Sonnen fight someone else in the meantime?

MMA expert Kevin Iole of Yahoo thinks there is only one choice for the UFC and we could be waiting a while before we see the rematch.

Update:Silva Soares And Manager sounds like he is already lining against giving Sonnen an immediate hit.Soares said FightHype:

"I mean, I don't think necessarily a rematch immediately is legitimate. it's not like he won decisively .you've forwarded man. you were on top of him for twenty minutes of the fight and he couldn't finish. Anderson scored a few bumps and scratches, but let's be realistic, you're on a guy of 23 minutes and could not take him? why should he get a rematch?"

As expected, the first reaction to this post has been all over the map on Twitter @ stevecofield.

White bruise, Alves has some begging to do to stay to welterweight

Sounds like Thiago Alves can eat and drink everything he wants now. It seems that the approach which was anyway for the massive welterweight. Between battles, Alves would blow up in excess of 200 pounds and then most often scrape by the skin of his teeth or lose weight back down to 170.

May be a case of three strikes and you're out for Alves who miss this weekend, back at UFC 85 and tested positive for the use of diuretics after UFC 66. having heard during the press conference of UFC 117 postfight Dana White, he may not have to worry about more hard edged.

"When you're in the UFC, your job is to make the weight, period. End of story. Believe me, I don't think not wanted Thiago don't take weight. He can not, "said White. "He Could have cut that half a pound? Maybe he couldn't have.Maybe he cut so much weight that would have broken him mentally this last half a pound of cut. This is [expletive]. it is not right for him. it is not right to anyone who keep happening. "

Alves reached at White shortly after struggle to apologize.

"He says, ' I'm sorry about that. I'll come back stronger," White said. "I said, ' yeah, 185, will. "Said, ' No, I want to stay at 170. ' "

White sounds like he has already made the decision to Alves.

"He belongs to 185 pounds," said White. "I feel this way .so [UFC matchmaker] Joe Silva feels this way. This is where I'd love to see him. "

After mentioning, white has lost his cool slightly.

"Would love to see him at 185," said White. "Is only [expletive] have [Jon Fitch] come in and train and is [expletive] you guys make weight and boys not gaining weight, especially at this level ".

White said is simply too risky book Alves in large struggles.

"It really screws things up," said White."What if he did beat Fitch tonight to get a title shot, and then do the weight for the title [fight]?I know that he can do [185].I guarantee that you can make 185 and will never have a problem with it. If you can fight to 185, so I don't know what to tell you six too big. "

The White was disappointed by the performance of Alves in loss of Jon Fitch and only managed to find a reason to lackluster effort.

"I don't go to calling him ring rust because when he pulled from this last fight, had a full training camp for [UFC 111]," said White. "Right before the fight, we discovered that he couldn't take. he had to have surgery and then got back on the field. it's not like this guy's been out for a year he looked lethargic tonight. He looked slow. he does not belong to 170. "

The 5-foot-9, Alves can be a bit short for that Division medium, but he would be a nice addition to a short new blood Division.

Falling action: Best and worst of strike force challengers 10

Usually MMA would if I watch on TV I fights threat to break a bathroom in a fight for fear of a missing something important. But the strike force 135 pounds women tournament and his three-minute rounds last night, I felt like I always only a particularly long sneezing way of missing the entire fight.

Not that I not the thinking behind the abbreviated tournament seizures verstehen.Wenn you twice in the span of an hour to fight guess maybe can a trip is more dock as entry.

That is unless you negate to a decision lose much time, because you got twice depreciated and it was to do something else, that could. Then you probably feel like you got screwed and also probably don't feel like you, to the treadmill then hit, just so you a complete workout in can get.

But the pinch on my Teil.Wir is all relatively petty fights were still treated to an interesting night, and at women's tournament brought a level of tension, we not always on challengers cards sehen.Wenn only we had get to see only a little more of it.

Now to the last night winners, losers, and everything in between of strike force challengers 10.

Biggest winners: Miesha Tate
Won the tournament belt (by the way, this is kinda funny, isn't it? how about a trophy or a medal or something?) with two solid performances that really showed how much you in the last year or so is improved. The adjustments that were between the first and second round against Akano evidence for a mature fighter who learn is how to find and exploit weaknesses your opponents. Are too bad we probably have at least six months wait to get another crack at the 135-pound title. What should a young fighter in the meantime do to stay sharp and earn their living?

Biggest loser: referee Ron mation
Normally I try to help people that cool to have the name the sound when you say that it really fast all together (I can not the only one who thinks 'Ronmation' sounds like a century - metal processing - technology), but this guy seems hardly qualified to per fighting referee. Up not fighters because you are bored or to get the audience restless obsolete.you up you certainly if a fighter in a dominant position is set of the message should follow perhaps a line of work where you can through the power of your awesome name get alone.I might suggest directed by adult movies?

The most delusional: Joe Riggs
Passed before this fight 'Diesel', the female fighters over lack of exposure, complain should not because the men are the main attraction. This made it sadly ironic that his main event bout against Louis Taylor felt like such anti climactic subsequently after women Turnier.Die of much experienced Riggs received we all expected to win it, then strike force called welterweight champ Nick Diaz for a good Maßnahme.Sorry, but even if you hit a few years back, being 1-1 in your last two you for an immediate title fight it by decision, the shots did not qualify.

Most likely to for his father on the phone be mistaken: Ryan Couture
When you hear the younger speech Couture, it can be no doubt that is his father. He has inherited Randy's speaking Cadence and its something unpleasant intensity, but it's far too early to say whether it is intended for the same athletic size.Don't get me wrong, is a template victory in the first minute debut per never bad Sache.Aber reasons the perspective, let us remember that he did it against an opponent, the 2-4 come in this bout war.Das best, what, we can do at this point for young Couture, it as any other fighter behandeln.vielleicht he grow into something big, and maybe will he know we certainly nicht.Bis, let's just see if we him to call Chuck Liddell late at night and pretend to be Randy.

Most impressive in defeat: Hitomi Akano

First of all we can all agree that "Girlfight Monster" is not the best of all time, at least in the top five nickname? Gute.Zweitens, Akano's toughness and strength, even in defeat, never fail, a strong impression to machen.Das was the case last tournament of night tournament battle as was as "Cyborg" Santos in match race, both fought so physically tilt it easy a Japanese "Super Hulk" would be can. who fights Akano, you know you are in work, don't give up for a night of Real.Sie and again can not questions for much more than that to unten.Sie.
