Fitch opposing his way to UFC title shot at 117

In an attack that decided the welterweight contender Jon Fitch, number one beat Thiago Alves, 30-27 on cards all three judges.

The first round was dominated by Takedown of Fitch and action-packed. Although Alves was able to stuff a reverse position and takedown, Fitch, a fighter for Purdue University, controlled Alves for most of turn.

Between rounds, Fitch said his coaches who Alves felt weak in the clinch. This was not surprising given the difficulty of Alves in cutting weight.

Fitch has continued to use her abilities of wrestling to dominate Alves as combating moved to the second round. Took early Alves to the ground, and Alves had a hard time fighting for Fitch.Alves took a short burst of offense at end of turn, but it wasn't enough.

Alves started out the third and final round with best stand-up, sprawling out a landing takedownand Fitch strikes. But by the mark in half of the round, Fitch had Alves back onto the canvas and had a body triangle sunk. Fitch continued to pummel Alves until the last minute, when Alves on and had another flurry of offense.

Some offense was not sufficient. in his first fight in 13 months, Alves looked weak during the attack. If was cutting weight or lay out between attacks, Alves didn't look like the hard-PUNCHING MACHINE that MMA fans are accustomed to seeing.

With this victory, Fitch presumably has earned a shot at title welterweight. teammate at the American Academy of Kickboxing, Josh Koscheck, will have the first crack at the champion Georges St. Pierre and the belt in December.

In a match excellent grappling, Leites will give a slight advantage through three rounds, but when they came out for the fourth, House was clearly the fresher fighter. "The fight hippie" scored an easy takedown and immediately got back of Leites. It has quickly turned into a deep rear naked Choke. Leites Tapped giving Horwich title Middle PWP at 0: 44 of the fourth round.

"The gameplan had to go to with faith better than any fight", House said Rutten in the ring."And keep coming Back better and constantly evolving, mentally, physically and spiritually. This is the biggest victory of my life".

In a sport that is filled with strange characters, Horwich (pictured right) may be the most unique. He often speaks of his religious faith and says that he is in quantum physics. as he did learn something so complicated? On the Internet, of course.

Hopkins says that Toney is in trouble to 118 UFC

Much of the boxing world is still pretty low on the expertise of mixed martial artists. Not Bernard Hopkins. The great light heavy was one of the first guys to admit that he would be getting whupped to Octagon fight in MMA rules. The legend of 45-year-old is frightening that James Toney has bitten off more than he can chew in its fight against Randy Couture.

"I think James Toney is going to get his ass kicked. James Toney is out of his League, "said Mauro Ranallo Hopkins recently on hardcore sports radio of Sirius (audio). "I think and I go on record with this, the guy MMA best or UFC guy goes against the Boxer in the world, in their arena ... Gets the that their ass kicked.I don't care if you Floyd [Mayweather], [Manny] Pacquiao or Bernard Hopkins. is that not what we do. "

In just over two weeks, Toney has made his debut at UFC MMA 118. Couture is a former UFC champion in two divisions of weight with 28 Professional MMA fights under his belt. After 83 pro boxing fights, Toney, 41, is looking for MMA.

Heavyweight boxing champ David Haye expanded on what he thinks is a mismatch. He said Kevin Iole of Yahoo:

"Six months training isn't going to be enough". Haye-de said. "As a UFC fan, I know two or three years would not be sufficient. How many times has sprawled Toney in his life?500?How many kicks leg has taken in his life? 300? how many attempts Kimura he defended?140?Though it did twice that amount, he wouldn't have nearly the expertise to win a UFC fight. "

Hopkins has also added that if UFC champ Anderson Silva tried box straight up against a boxer elite, he would fight as well.

"This is a different arena. I'm not saying that he won't have its moments," said Hopkins. "Listen, when comes this instinct. when using a guy to grab a guy down, using his forearm or Chin or whatever and you take away that is like taking of his teeth out of his mouth; He is no longer a lion. "

You can listen to the Show "The Fight" with Ranallo weekdays from 4-5 p.m. ET on Sirius channel 98.

Photo disturbing da Silva UFC 117 conquer Sonnen

Anderson Silva should be counting his lucky stars this Monday morning that he still has his UFC title belt. The sample scored whupped up for 22 minutes but was still able to pull off a presentation with just over two minutes left in its fight against Sonnen Hague.

Apparently his work with movie star Steven Seagal action does not pay a dividend. Silva was seriously its ties with the star of great flicks like "Above the Law" and "Under Siege." Seagal escorted Silva to the Octagon and also had a great "Smooch".In this video, Seagal seemed to be added to offensive arsenal of Silva, showing him some moves from Seagal Aikido. remember, was the guy who said Sonnen wouldn't be much of a test for Silva.

"Certainly this fight is another step on the road," Seagal said. "But I think this will not be one of his struggles harder".

To avoid getting sacked 27 times, Silva can add Fran Tarkenton his smantellera. The sample was taken in all five shifts. which included dumped on her front in less than a minute in the last four rounds.By Compustrike, he was also impressed 289 times. That is a number of outrageous considering only the champ was hit a total of 208 times in its first UFC 11 attacks.

Sonnen used the word "devastated" on numerous occasions during the press conference postfight. Lose on the big stage too often was the case for the former wrestler Oregon.

He can take some satisfaction in grabbing the fight of the night bonus $ 60,000.That is more than what might say bettors in Las Vegas.Presentation of Ave Maria Silva came as punters were counting their money. Unfortunately when "take a knee" in guard someone isn't quite the same as football.Bets on Silva pushed its unilateral quotas to less-500 in some cases. as you can see, a ticket to parlay with underdogs Sonnen and Matt Hughes, would you have paid in excess of 11-1. Hughes has been a solid success at more dog-145. Dennis Hallman was the best night out-280.

Stefan Struve screwed underdog bettors well. giant was getting destroyed by Christian Morecraft (plus-240) when it has landed a right-handed fight-changing to turn things in his favor.

Silva shows courage sample in pulling off the miracle comeback

The interview was so non-stop and over the top, couldn't be executed some starting from believing that even Yoshiyuki Sonnen have known its guarantees. Spoke to bring the fight Anderson Silva, taking him Silva for 25 minutes and flying a hole in his head. Ridiculous, right? Wrong, Sonnen did exactly what he said would do, but did so only 22. Leader Sonnen 4-0, relaxed for a few seconds in the guard of Silva and caught by a great right. Sonnen that stopped long enough to allow Silva to throw up his legs and lock on a triangle choke. Sonnen couldn't hold off, has exploited and Silva kept his average UFC title with a comeback miracle at 3: 10 the fifth round in the main event at UFC 117 in Oakland.

Sonnen is always brutally honest and had no excuses just seconds after the fight.

"It was a tough fight. He is a tough guy, "Sonnen said UFC analyst Joe Rogan."I came in second.I have given my opportunity and I came up short ".

Update:Anderson Silva scored a presentation of the award Night ($ 60,000). He and Sonnen had the meeting bonus night as well. ($ 60,000 each)

Update II: Compustrike Credits that Sonnen landed a MMA record 289 strikes during the fight. Which included 218-11 (a) during the first three ballots and 51-2 in first.FightMetric says that the count was 320-64 in General in favour of Sonnen.

He can still be proud. He was leader of the struggle, 40-34, 40-36 and 40-35, about the scorecard. Coming in, Silva had won all 11 of his fights UFC, losing scarcely a few revolutions. was so dominant that opponents were afraid to engage with him for some ugly, boring fighting.

Sonnen wasn't intimidated everyone. blew threw Silva (27-4, 12-0 UFC) in a few seconds the opening of each round to score Takedown. On the ground, Silva was impotent. He couldn't improve its position and couldn't get off our backs.

But Sonnen (24-11-1, 4-4 UFC) does not close it.That's why Championship fights are five laps. When asked if he wanted a rematch immediately, Sonnen was still stunned.

"I am only here to be the number 1.If I'm not the best that I'm going to go in life, "said Sonnen."But for now I got the silver medal".

Silva seemed almost shocked beginning. arriving ever right to striker lethal. This is exactly what he did Sonnen and had the first big hit of the fight. Sonnen landed left huge that stunned Silva. the sample is withdrawn, abandoned his hands and was taking more shots on the feet. that when Sonnen scored his first takedown with 3: 10 left in the second round. In, which struck the bridge just 11 seconds in the next round Silva was on baking sheet 24 seconds. Fourth, Silva scored a takedown but seemed then an amateur as easily reversed him Sonnen. on the ground, Sonnen pounded away with an array of elbows and punches to the head and body. both fighters were bruised evil at end of combat.

Toney's promoter that Goossen challenges Couture to get in a dogfight

You like James Toney like a big underdog against Randy Couture to 118 UFC? You can listen to his boxing promoter, Dan Goossen, that by the end of this interview will have eight minutes you run for the bet Couture. Goossen not rip Toney, he knows just the reality of a boxer stepping into a cage and fighting based on mixed martial arts. He admires Toney to show the courage to crossover, but frankly the promotion of the entire "boxing versus MMA" disturbs him.

"He is counting on being able to go out there and hit Couture with one of the shots that would definitely put him if he connects," Goossen says fighthubtv.com.(4: 55 mark). "The only thing I would say is there is nothing that whenever if James loses because it is a sport completely different ".

Love or hate him, Toney is doing something very few boxers that are still viable in square circle were willing to do.

"One person was willing to walk on the wild side, James Toney," said Goossen (8: 09 mark). "Is a completely different sport. It would be like a player of lacrosse play all of a sudden Major League Baseball. It would be difficult for him to do it, no matter how many times he hits a ball in lacrosse. "

Goossen is lost on this analogy. There is no "hitting" the ball is lacrosse. boxing is one of the many disciplines used in MMA.

Goossen says three times that he will offer you the same money that Couture UFC is paying for this fight bounce immediately back and take Toney in a boxing match.

"Win, lose or draw with Randy Couture, ti corresponds to what he is making for this fight," said Goossen (mark 5: 19)."And let's see if he had the same trick warrior that James Toney has to crossover, for the holding of boxing".

Goossen says he's not rip Couture, but want everyone to know Toney is one-of-a-type for this operation. He says even moved like owner UFC Lorenzo Fertitta seven or eight years ago to match Toney against Tito Ortiz in a boxing match.Fertitta passed onto the Sin offering.

Good for Goossen for not lifting a big stink and attempts to lock Toney from this risk. Don King freaked out when his Boxer Ricardo Mayorga tried crossover for a fight MMA .DK went as far as putting up a million dollars cash to get an injunction to stop MMA fight against Din Thomas of Mayorga. He argued that poor performance by Mayorga might ruin its investment in Boxer. now what is left Mayorga with? where is his payday? Toney had great anything on the horizon in boxing so at least this keeps his name out there and cashes out a nice-sized control.

WEC 50: Faber says that Cruz is a dope and disrespectul

There is the guy no more polite than in MMA Urijah Faber. The former champ WEC has certainly done enough during his illustrious career to be a pompous jerk if wanted. He could talk to a lot of garbage, but it is really difficult to recall Faber smashing someone. Then we have Dominick Cruz. The current champ bantamweight rubs Faber in the wrong way, and he has no problem to express his feelings-Cruz (mark 2: 33).

"There aren't many people that I don't like out there, Faber said Larry pepper Pro MMA Radio."For lack of a better way to describe him, he seems like a sort of a dope. "

Faber has underlined a UFC magazine piece on Cruz, where he spoke of his misguided ways as a teenager. Cruz said that he started from his home in order to lay the parts a Apartment his mother the Mag.

"That kind of story sob is that dude? He is throwing parties when he was 19, when his MOM leaves town so then she him kicked out and had to be turned off on his own," said Faber."I don't know man, he just rubs me the wrong way. How was disrespectul when we fought in the first place, and just the way he exercises the same."

The Faber teammate and friend Joe pengurnian Pingat-Pingat takes a run at title belt of Cruz next week to 50 WEC. mark it down, if pengurnian Pingat-Pingat falls short, Faber is probably a shot at Cruz along the way.

UFC 118 video: subtitles for James Toney? Really?

For all who are concerned about licenses Ken Shamrock or Evander Holyfield, maybe we need to consider holding off for the approval of James Toney. It is alarming to see UFC using subtitles for NATO in America, Toney-English speakers. He is 41 years!

Toney has wrestled professionally since 1988 with a total of 83 fights but is considered one of the best defensive fighters of the past 25 years. Much of its ability to avoid the big punch has been defended through offense.Toney is the hunting only since 1990, which was in four different title fights, where he landed Treos punches. how many shots it took?

Is really that bad your speech or someone had to simply tell him, "James speak clearly! Enunciate some more!"

Toney probably doesn't give damn about subtitles, but they seem a bit unusual.

N ° 1 star--Anderson Silva: If no reminder was necessary because MMA is an amazing sport, Silva gave you. A football team is unlikely to come back and win when down four touchdowns in the notice of two minutes.Ditto a basketball team down 40 points, or a baseball team 12 runs downwards. But in MMA, judges score cards can be made questionable with a single triangle choke.

Silva has demonstrated not only the magnitude of MMA, but the nature of a sample.Has withstood a Sonnen Yoshiyuki beating for 4 1/2 laps, but was still able to come back and win., quite simply, has discovered a way to win. That is a quality found in larger samples, independently of sport.

No. 2 star--Sonnen Hague: of course, the man who delivered the beating for most of the main event deserves glory as well. Sonnen used wrestling and the Earth and the pound to inexorably pummel Silva. Sonnen fact Silva human aspect, a feat that few other combatants were able to accomplish.

No. 3 star--Stefan Struve: on a map jam-packed, was difficult to choose the final Star, but Struve showed his mettle with a second round KO of Christians Morecraft.Struve was battered and beaten by the first round. With a lip altered and a bloody face, Struve is back to deliver two strikes punish subscribe Morecraft.

Honorable--Wrestling: Yes, the world's oldest and largest sport has played a leading role to 117 UFC.Matt Hughes used a technique old school wrestling to beat Ricardo Almeida. Jon Fitch used wrestling to take back Thiago Alves. Phil Davis, Clay Guide and even Sonnen wrestling used to get the job done--almost done in the case of Sonnen.

Dishonorable Mention--Thiago Alves: first, he blew the weight. then he was dominated by Jon Fitch a unanimous decision loss. Alves looked slow and tired, managing only a few suits of offense near the end of the second and third round.

' Smart fighter ' Scott Jorgensen set up for Brad Pickett

Scott JorgensenIf things go to plan, Scott Jorgensen want Thursday morning thinking about changing his nickname.

You call him "Young guns," which is likely to get more with his tendency in the bag and throw hands with another Cees Slinger ready, as no love for the Emilio Estevez movie to do it.

But Jørgensen says his opponent on Wednesday's WEC 50 expected card in Las Vegas a shootout - and if this is the case, Brad Pickett might need to work to find.

"He will stand and bang," Jorgensen MMA fighting said on Sunday."I will to commit him? why? I'm smarter than man.""I'm definitely not, a good gun fight shy, but I am now a smart fighter."

At least he reminds the "Weapon"-reference.

Jørgensen (10-3, 6-2 WEC) has four straight in the WEC's loaded bantamweight Division gewonnen.Und if not for a split decision loss to Antonio Banuelos WEC 41 June 2009 - a fight many its way thought the - should have gone that only would be seven, staring the path of eight straight against Pickett.

It's not exactly a secret that a decisive victory over Pickett (19-4, 2-0 WEC) Wednesday Jørgensen front and Center for a crack on the winner could put the 135-pound title battle between master Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez, WEC 50's main event. And Jørgensen believes the result of his first fight against Banuelos - he won the rematch at WEC 48 in April - been different he his title that had long ago shots.

"I think if I won this fight would, my way would have marked a bit differently," said Jørgensen. "I would major battles, and this larger to win battles would have me in a title that shot a long time ago."

But this loss gave him some perspective.

"I would be the fighter, that today, I was if I lose this battle,", said Jørgensen. "It is a terrible thing for me to say that you learn if you lose - the most, because you don't have to lose to learn." But I changed as hunters, the night. "It is bitter-I hate it, but I love it."

In this struggle, a hidden gem on the temporary card Mike Brown Urijah Faber - revenge in Sacramento, California, Jørgensen early from Banuelos - marked was straight in the eyes. Weh.Er knew that it.He showed it.And "Young guns," at that time had an itchy trigger finger.

"" I knew everyone thought I was hurt by the way, how I respond, ", said Jørgensen, add punch Banuelos threw his vision was affected not illegal."It was a proud problem. One did I excited angry wrestling background, and the kind of person I am really.I have, my game plan would beat him auswirken.Ich have - if I have kept only my cool... would would it did like second fight."But it is what it is what it is and I he learned lernte.Ich to keep my cool and calm and struggle hard."

Four months after this loss Jørgensen made quick work of Noah Thomas at WEC 43.Then he showed his newfound patience in a unanimous decision victory over Takeya Mizugaki. He needed no patience against Chad George WEC 47, beat on one of the deadliest submissions search and win by the guillotine 31 seconds in the first round of the Jahres.Und he, up to seven weeks later his revenge followed Banuelos with a decision win demanding.

He needs no reputable gym in a well-known city Jørgensen's assessment, becoming a well-known fighter - he just needs, as he says, guys, can kick his butt, to make every day around him better.

That mentality goes back to his days College basketball rings at Boise State. After college, he stuck around and started a sports training for mixed martial arts, since the early days of the UFC, he had a fan of just with his father and his brother - although MOM was a fan.And he has avoided, Boise important MMA camps, instead with the twisted he work for Genetiks Commons with some college teammate, co-founded once school, was abandoned.

American top team? does not matter to "Young Guns."

"" The only thing I know is that no matter who I fight or bearings are what out if in this cage with me step is you better were trained, tired, "Said Jørgensen.""Because I'll press until you so tired you know nothing."

He believes Pickett, a British trains, this fight gun import, to ATT with former WEC featherweight Champ Mike Brown only wants will.Aber Jørgensen then he has a larger plan gewinnen.Und.

"" I want a title shot - I want the belt, ", said Jørgensen."I will not Anwärter.Ich wants to werden. In champion this sport, the ultimate Ziel.Das is the light at the end of the Tunnels.Das is what everyone for shooting have never trained pay to be the second place, and I think this is, what top candidates train pay to be the best."
