Hopkins says that Toney is in trouble to 118 UFC

Much of the boxing world is still pretty low on the expertise of mixed martial artists. Not Bernard Hopkins. The great light heavy was one of the first guys to admit that he would be getting whupped to Octagon fight in MMA rules. The legend of 45-year-old is frightening that James Toney has bitten off more than he can chew in its fight against Randy Couture.

"I think James Toney is going to get his ass kicked. James Toney is out of his League, "said Mauro Ranallo Hopkins recently on hardcore sports radio of Sirius (audio). "I think and I go on record with this, the guy MMA best or UFC guy goes against the Boxer in the world, in their arena ... Gets the that their ass kicked.I don't care if you Floyd [Mayweather], [Manny] Pacquiao or Bernard Hopkins. is that not what we do. "

In just over two weeks, Toney has made his debut at UFC MMA 118. Couture is a former UFC champion in two divisions of weight with 28 Professional MMA fights under his belt. After 83 pro boxing fights, Toney, 41, is looking for MMA.

Heavyweight boxing champ David Haye expanded on what he thinks is a mismatch. He said Kevin Iole of Yahoo:

"Six months training isn't going to be enough". Haye-de said. "As a UFC fan, I know two or three years would not be sufficient. How many times has sprawled Toney in his life?500?How many kicks leg has taken in his life? 300? how many attempts Kimura he defended?140?Though it did twice that amount, he wouldn't have nearly the expertise to win a UFC fight. "

Hopkins has also added that if UFC champ Anderson Silva tried box straight up against a boxer elite, he would fight as well.

"This is a different arena. I'm not saying that he won't have its moments," said Hopkins. "Listen, when comes this instinct. when using a guy to grab a guy down, using his forearm or Chin or whatever and you take away that is like taking of his teeth out of his mouth; He is no longer a lion. "

You can listen to the Show "The Fight" with Ranallo weekdays from 4-5 p.m. ET on Sirius channel 98.
