Couture-Toney fight you solve anything

Fans of struggle are eaten on both sides of the fence. MMA fans will root for Randy Couture while boxing fans will tune to see if James Toney can represent he science sweet when you meet in 118 UFC.

The fight you pull from the origins of MMA. A brawler can beat a fighter Jiu-Jitsu? Is better than football karate boxing? And a boxer is able to beat a fighter? It has all the mass for a monster pay-per-view, at the end of August.Or does it? ESPN-MLB Baseball says the fight lacks and you shouldn't care:

1. James Toney is 41 years old. Forty-one! Muhammad Ali was getting beaten by Trevor Berbick 39. Mike Tyson, who never met a payday that he doesn't like, not fought since she was 39.And Evander Holyfield, 41 years old, was beaten by, Yes, James Toney. What does Toney have left in the tank? Whatever it took, is no longer an indicator of his talent.

Toney has plenty left, especially if he managed to cruiserweight to which he belongs. He is still a heavy top-10, with a granite Chin and defensive capabilities as good as anyone in sport.

Check out some of the other reasons besides ESPN-MLB Baseball, where the writer asks why is also the argument?

5. It is to compose a debate that should not exist.MMA vs boxing?Who cares, other than companies pay-per-view.Boxers box.MMAers, um, martial art.Sports Are two very different, each with its own fanbases, their stories, their advantages and shortcomings, and there is more than enough room in the world for the two of them.

There is room for both sports, and they are very different. Once this goes to the core of the fights. my style is better than yours. stupid or not, the fans and media eat. on a side note, it is interesting that this is one of the fights alone we've seen ESPN-MLB Baseball write somewhat serious analysis for when it comes to MMA. So someone has engaged a bit.

Tyson loves Fedor and Mel Gibson

Cause now you know the pain that its threshold is now off the roof. He is great. He is powerful. He is fast and he can handle the pain as he can flat. "

Tyson said also first MMA fight James Toney could be "injurious to him".

Rissa Blogs about how critical female MMA

If you thought conquer of Sarah Kaufman Roxanne Modafferi was a great fight, you should follow the throwdown on MMA female falling between different blog MMA. One side thinks MMA female is unathletic, stinks and does not belong to a first place on television. The other is irked by the lack of respect.

The flap of Kaufman began when he blogged that she was unhappy with its positioning on Strikeforce Challenger 9. Kaufman (0-12) delivered a nice finishing slam to end things against Modafferi, but MMA payout says that the slam only supports its argument that the fight is female it belongs to.

If anything, the slam is further support for the idea that women don't have a lot of speed, force and threshold of damage which make MMA so dynamic and exciting. The Kaufman slam pales in comparison to Rampage-Arona (or even Harris-Branch), that sums up perfectly the difference between the two sports and why MMA women has such a tough row to hoe.

The slam has become a lightning rod for supporters of the female MMA and Kaufman. Fightlinker dished out just slam call analysis of win MMA "asinine" and that it did not belong in a site by analyzing the business side of MMA.

Opinion of the fight was not happy with the critical prefight that Kaufman scored for complaining of exhibition:

Said his claim for fight on Strikeforce major card. who came you blame?Supporters.

Apparently the media, however, largely isn't happy with his attitude. a note to those criticizing her with indignation largely produced — who else is going to promote yourself if he works for the promotion is not doing a good enough job, promotion of you or themselves?

FO says men do all the time, so why not Kaufman?

Let's say for what it is — Sarah has done something that made other combatants in promotion (promoted themselves) and again she gets heat for it while everyone who goes into business for themselves in Strikeforce Gets a shrug of the shoulders from writers beat. you don't have a contract as Dan Henderson and make a living to a business that requires devotion 100% means you have to scratch and claw to get every dollar it can do.If it is through sponsorships, spot, fight salary, or whatever may be the vehicle of revenue, you have got to earn a living.

Zach to FO thinks different blogger ripped Kaufman, why did for a beautiful story during a slow news week.

So why the heat against Sarah by writers, which is an entirely different reaction to the favourable response from fans? Is a melting pot of grounds. Firstly, it is a dry cycle news. Writers are seeking material. Secondly, it is a woman, and there is plenty of fans voice that aren't on the bandwagon MMA female.

If you read Cagewriter on a regular basis, for me the jury is still out on MMA female. I thought that the fight of Gina Carano-Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos was as good as any I had seen during 2009. But what kind of fight female is too often outnumbered by unathletic clinchfests-looking.

Opinion of struggle, is right, ultimately it is up to you guys. If tuned on a regular basis, producing a number great visibility, and MMA female helps fill arenas around the country, it had a future. Certainly is a much better product than female boxing, but so is the WNBA and for some reason men have consistently snubbed it.

Munoz, trying to turn the corner and get rid of junker

There is going to be some competition for the bonus to fight-night at UFC on versus 2. Tuesday, we told you about John Howard and his Honda Accord 1994. Wednesday, is Mark Munoz and his Honda Accord 1992. It shows two things, Honda, last and the crew of contenders on this tab is still climbing the ladder of riches.

Munoz, a former all-American wrestler to Oklahoma State, was having trouble to support his wife and four children. That is, while he was wrestling coach at UC Davis. so he decided to enter prize fight and mixed martial arts.

Munoz "there were times where I couldn't even provide for my family," said the Orange County Register."Accumulated much debt. self reclaimed. The House foreclosed. "

Munoz (8-1) seems to be on the road right now as he prepares to face Yushin Okami (UFC 24-5, 8-2). He is entering its fifth fight in UFC and has its own gym, Reign in Lake Forest, California. But continue to lean to his ways, he still has that old Honda.

He trains a lot also with Blackhouse MMA, the famous southern California gym that hosts Anderson Silva, Junior Dos Santos, Lyoto Machida and brothers Nogueira.Munoz has served as a stand-in for Chael Sonnen as Silva preps to defend his title this weekend at 117 UFC.Silva has also a victory on Okami on his ledger. Munoz said by examiner.com:

"Anderson actually told me that after fighting with me, and after fighting Yushin Okami, has nothing to me.He knows what he Okami, so we've worked really hard to understand how he moves and how to counter. He had a lot of great stuff that he is showing me. "

Okami was once considered one of the top five in UFC middleweights. He is a fighter and ground pound solid but its takedown defense was a big problem fighting against Sonnen makes two. That seems to play directly in the hands of Munoz. Okami showed a game more dangerous standup in his last fight against Lucio Linhares.

A very eloquent Diaz responds to criticism of Miller

The hype began for a fight of Nick Diaz-Jason Miller can. Diaz is already 1-0 against "Mayhem" by technicality. Miller lost a game of disability during the brawl CBS as Diaz headed a Scrum 7-in-1. Apparently Diaz looked a teaser for upcoming HDNet's interview with Miller, where was to blame for the brawl and decided to a video response to tape while driving. This is a doozy. Diaz's rambles for five minutes, use the f-bomb somehow 29 times and we are still not sure that the message was (NSFW).

We think that Diaz called Miller a false who is more interested in his own image than fighting.

"Look at her mother [expletive], you've got gold teeth and hair funny," said Diaz. "I don't know why you want to live your life like that. Any guy. "

Update-in what appears to be a shocking development, someone would have talked to Diaz possibly some sense into him his youth was a little rant. The video has changed from public to private.

Diaz is taking the challenge of Miller head-on.

"I don't think you can do anyway, the weight", said Diaz."Why not come and 170?You can't make weight 170, just because we talk about [expletive]?"

The best part comes late (mark 3: 44) when Diaz says, "is whatever. And how? why? you know what the [expletive]?"

Japanese Fighters make waves at UFC on versus 2

The rap on Japanese fighters is in hometown promotions as DREAM and Sengoku, but when forced to fight in a cage in the u.s., they buckle. A Japanese fighter has never held a title from UFC belt or WEC. Before his Strikeforce title bout with Gilbert Melendez, lightweight Shinya Aoki said that if he lost, MMA in Japan would be above. Well, he lost.

Someone doesn't say that in Henderson and Takanori Gomi.

Both fighters won handily UFC on versus 2.If Gomi said that "he learned American fight" he won with the return to hit his bread and butter. Okami did with defence takedown textbooks. Its proliferation — Deinterlaces down with hips flexible — was good enough to stop a wrestler collegiate elite in Mark Munoz.

Now, Okami can get the shot to be the first military to win a Championship UFC.UFC President Dana White said last week that a victory could put Okami online for a blow to the middle belt.By mmajunkie.com:

"Winning this fight would be great," said White. "I say this all the time, you know, Henderson is one of the best 185-pounders worldwide and has been for a while. this guy's due for a title shot. "

Apparently, Japanese MMA is far from over. it seems as if you are just getting warmed up.
