Weigh in UFC 117: Does Alves still get a title shot with a victory?

Thiago Alves can never to separate from the texture of weigh in drama. The Brazilian squat is massive for class of 170-pound and is always an adventure in the days preceding the weigh in. This week was no different. Alves was reportedly 190 pounds of Wednesday morning. Today, sounded very sunny and with reports that he was 177 in the morning. But it did not work, even with two attempts at pesa. Alves miss the mark, had to abandon the 20 percent of her purse and the same can cost the title shot promised for the winner of its fight against Jon Fitch.

With the threat of weight is missing Alves, sounded like white had changed his mind during the night that says FanHouse (7: 10 mark) that Fitch, Alves, Jake Shields or Martin Kampmann could be online for title shot after Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck fight. Alves couldn't have donehimself any favors by weight is missing again!

The energy was high, as the main event fighters struck the scale.Yoshiyuki Sonnen was all business, while Anderson Silva had fun on the scale that act as if he was nervous that he was going to lose weight. Silva flipped the script while staredown, refusing to watch Sonnen. the Challenger has played a helluva job hyping the fight, but sounded like he made plenty of enemies among the fans.
