Unlike Toney, acts as a true fighter Hunt

Spine of Mark Hunt is against the wall. A veteran of kickboxing, he is a huge MMA fan favorite clubs Japanese. But because he hasn't worked on his ground game, his style has led to a one-dimensional running rough lately in MMA. Hunt has lost five straight and not won since 2006, but he has made his UFC debut at UFC 119 in September. Why? Dana White said the inclusion of hunting was part of the purchase PRIDE Back in 2007. Good news for white are that hunting is not only going to take the money and run.

He said Sherdog back in July that he felt like he had lost much of his career and had not taken seriously his conditioning. From the appearance of the picture on the left hunting (amid) worked his butt.He is regularly about 290 pounds. Hunt is also down to American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fl., one of the best gyms grappling/Jiu-Jitsu at home.

No one is saying that James Toney could have beaten Randy Couture if first UFC 118 had worked a little harder. But he could've at least given himself a blow to stay out of the bridge more than 11 seconds, he wasn't come pounds of 237 a career high.Hunt, clearly, has no interest in a production of a similar performance Toney.

Former UFC Fighter Jeff Monson is also pictured (left). He looks a bit leaner. Monson spoke with Strikeforce fighting for promotion in October down to 205 pounds.

Florian says Maynard is a fighter boring and too cocky

Kenny Florian of been there before. The UFC lightweight Title lost fight with a very early in his career against Sean Sherk and then ripped off six straight WINS. Maybe it was a bit hard tips for his next shot against B.j. Penn. Florian stuck with a gameplan vitiated and lost in the fourth round through the rear-naked Choke. He knows now is important to stay grounded and thinks that Gray Maynard was better follow the Council itself.

"I definitely sense a kind of cockiness. A different attitude than showed in the past, "Florian said of his opponent at UFC 118 (0: 22 mark). "I've been there too. We are victims of it. I think he looks over me.I think he is already looking towards the title. He is definitely on the side cocky. "

Just 9-0 in MMA, Florian asks where cockiness of Maynard is coming from. He also wants to see how Maynard deals with adversity.

"Gray never met that kind of pressure. He's never ever met when someone is kind of knock on him, "Florian said Larry Pepper from Radio ProMMA (mark 2: 57)" He has always been the aggressor. He has always been the bully. It's easy to get struggles that when you are winning the fight all the time.As he is about to answer when he has always fought? "

Maynard never really was beaten down, but he was frustrated to no end in his last fight against Nate Diaz. Incessant chatter Diaz in Octagon took Maynard out of his game. If that screwed with head of Maynard, what if he actually is losing the fight?

"As he is about to answer when he was injured and he is still injured and he is injured, again," said Florian."And he is losing every minute of every round. What is that gonna feel like for him?"

Maynard was far more explicit in the lead up to this fight. Part of this is the realization that guys like Dan Hardy, Paul Daley and even Diaz moved very faster than self-promotion more heavily. Florian not see that it's just a ploy to Maynard to push the fight and his image. He was insulted by Maynard saying that he can beat Florian in every aspect of MMA.

"If he does not respect my skills, he is gonna be in trouble," said Florian. He suggested that Maynard will be full of excuses if he loses the fight. "'S gonna be one of those things where (Maynard Says), ' I don't understand what happened or Kenny got lucky.Or I made a mistake and I'll be back and better than ever."Not that I am has created a lot of motivation for me."

Florian not to mention a lot of garbage, but decided to focus a bit back to Maynard (Mark 6: 10).

"I don't think he is the most exciting hunting," Florian said Maynard. "I wouldn't jump up and down when there is a gray Maynard fight in progress, but I respect his skills. "

This is a huge struggle in lightweight Division. the winner has a good shot at the meeting the winner Frank Edgar-b. j. Penn. promotional terms, you have to think that the UFC would love to see Maynard victory.

Davis on Boxing MMA: Toney has little shot and not a UFC Fighter Noons

Waiting for UFC 118, Boxer versus grappler was talking all week long. James Toney will try to pull the upset Randy Couture. But don't forget that the Charter has Marcus Davis vs. Nate Diaz. If there's someone who understands how difficult the transition is from ring to the cage, it is Davis.

Once upon a time was in position of Toney Davis. No, he was never on the level that Toney was in boxing, but after 18 attacks pro wearing gloves large, Davis moved to MMA. having a single legitimate weapon, Davis was above her head during season 2 of "The Ultimate Fighter".

"There's nothing that James Toney to Randy Couture can do other than punch him and knocking him out," Davis said hardcore sports radio (audio). "He is basically going into this fight one-dimensional completely."

"Randy will do what he wants to do for him," Davis said."There's five ranges of fight-kicking, punching, abundance, and fight ground grappling. Those are five different ways in which a fight can be fought and all Randy has to do is stop punching range. That's it! And that is easy to do, especially for someone, when this is all they do ever ".

Davis knows first hand what it's like bringing so few weapons to the Octagon. It was so bad for him on 2 TUF and then the final 2 TUF, was close to walk away from the sport. And that was against the prospects MMA. Toney is facing a 13-year veteran of the sport.

"His first professional MMA fight, his first one, is going to be against one of the great," said Davis."Who like me just jump in professional basketball and a game of one-on-one against Michael Jordan. It is not only gonna happen. "

It is a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.

Toney spoke also faced Brock Lesnar if he wins on Saturday night and it is said that he is still a boxing career balancing. Davis said it is not possible. Then host Mauro Ranallo threw out Strikeforce fighter as example K.J. Noons. Noons (10-2 MMA) he also boxed professionally 13 times. Davis, wasn't impressed.

"If he came at UFC in Division 155-pound, he'd eaten and spitting out. He didn't make it here," Davis said. "He wouldn't be able to come and fight MMA, box, and won't happen ".

In addition to pro boxing career, Davis and Toney share another thing in common, both celebrated a birthday on Tuesday. Davis, 37 said that he expects a better birthday present on Saturday night that Toney, 42, will always be.

Fighter vs. writer: UFC 117 predictions

OAKLAND - is already a while since my last spectacular battle picking fail, but with UFC 117 just around the corner, veterinarian fighter vs. writer are with Olympic silver medalist and MMA Matt Lindland.

For those of who were this knowledge series already, I have even a single one of these prediction contests to win.Either this means that fighters are all really great at picking fights, or I'm really, really schrecklich.Ich choose to think it's the former, and there is nothing you say, can to convince me otherwise.

Below check out how Lindland and I Saturday night fights going see down.

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen

Lindland's pick:Sun via TKO. No surprise here. "The law" and Sun have back since young way so Lindland practically obliged to his buddy to get. Still insists he is Sun wear down Silva and stop in the third round of what "an incredible battle."
My pick: Silva via TKO. Not Sun's toughness in question, but I do I believe that he can really threaten Silva. I am surprised when he out of the first makes it.

Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch

Lindland's pick: Fitch via Entscheidung.Lindland said: "I don't know, maybe I like only Jon Fitch.Ich think he is probably my favorite fighter in the UFC besides Chael."Was for a long time. "I am a big fan of him."
My pick:Fitch via Entscheidung.Ich am less Fitch crazy as Lindland, but I think he'll Alves on the mat to control and the decision victory here.

Roy Nelson vs. Junior dos Santos

Lindland's pick:Deceive Nelson about Entscheidung.Eine by an unimpressive physique, Lindland dos Santos Nelson will "come difficult" and surprise never says.
My pick:Dos Santos via TKO.Ich believe not only Nelson can keep dos Santos down and it there, and I like his chances if it remains on the feet.

Matt Hughes vs Ricardo Almeida

Lindland's pick:Almeida via Einreichung.Lindland says the big dog "Kind of a wild-card", but he thanks takes him anyway his Jiu-Jitsu skills.
My pick:Almeida via Einreichung.Hughes is a threat on the legs are not much of a tough ringer, but he and his power and explosiveness has faded in the last years.
