UFC 117 medical suspensions and injuries for 'Silva vs Sonnen '

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) recently released its list of medical suspension issued to UFC 117: "Silva vs. Sonnen," which took place on Sunday, August 7, 2009, from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

With some of the attacks that ended early (and violently), 14 of the 22 fighters who fought on a map for the follow-up visits with their physicians will be highlighted.

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, which was battered but not beaten by Chael Sonnen for almost five full rounds was Chief among them. the "spin" will be on the sidelines with a rib injury and neurological problems to six months, unless, of course, he can get of a medical practitioner for him to return earlier.

Be that as it may, the Brazilian should a mandatory medical suspension of 45 days and could not be contacted for at least 30. Sonnen, meanwhile, will be suspended for at least 60 days and not keep in touch during that time, either.

Rafael dos Anjos(broken jaw), Stefan Struve Geodetic Arc (bottom lip stunning) and Christian Morecraft (head trauma), were also selected after their fair share of the penalties in the Octagon.

Chael Sonnen: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for cuts.

Rafael dos Anjos: 180 days suspended (180 days, there have been no contact) for broken jaw.

Roy Nelson:Suspended 45 days (30 days there have been no contact) for the "hard" screw.

Junior dos Santos: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for stunning right cheek.

Dustin Hazelett:Suspended 45 days (30 days there have been no contact) as a precautionary measure--must be a new physical.

Phil Davis: 180 days suspended (180 days, there have been no contact) for possible broken hand.

Charlie Brenneman:Suspended 45 days (30 days there have been no contact) as a precautionary measure--must be a new physical.

Tim Boetsch: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for facial cuts, additional six-month suspension (broken thumb) leave, unless by a doctor.

Todd Brown: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for the laceration.

Stefan Struve Geodetic Arc: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for the lower lip laceration.

Christian Morecraft: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for eyebrow cuts, additional six-month suspension (head trauma) unless turned off by a doctor.

Ben Saunders:Suspended 45 days (30 days there have been no contact) for the "hard" screw.

Dennis Hallman: suspended for 60 days (60 days, there have been no contact) for the destruction of the left cheek.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much faster when doctors them the green light. the long suspensions are just a precautionary measure is in most cases.
